All About Us

A Festival to celebrate, create and enable

Throughout this Arts Council of England Funded project, in partnership with Trestle Theatre Company, we collected oral histories from people with lived experiences of learning disabilities, friends, family, key workers and others that will feature in the exhibition. These oral histories were presented as an installation celebrating this vibrant, creative and diverse community in their own words and art.

HERTS HIDDEN HEROINES PROJECT

Anna Reynolds, Herts Hidden Heroines Project Manager

Hertfordshire’s Hidden Heroines was a Heritage Lottery Fund project run and managed by Trestle Theatre Company in St Albans from November 2015 – November 2016.  The aim was to discover, rediscover and celebrate the inspiring, pioneering and ground-breaking women of Hertfordshire.

Herts Hidden Heroines: High Flyers
First Published on Apr 29, 2016: The last witch to be tried, women aviators taking off in bomber planes from Hatfield, the county’s highwaywoman, an Edwardian ballooning parachutist and WW1 ambulance driving daredevil… how many of these Herts women have YOU heard of?

ODEON JOURNEY

Odeon Journey was a Heritage Lottery Fund project in collaboration with St Albans Civic Society, St Albans Museums, St Albans District Council and St Albans Arts Sport and Health (SAASH).

The history of the Odeon cinema has been preserved thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. During 2011, St Albans Civic Society recorded and collected memories of the Odeon cinema, culminating in an exhibition at the Museum of St Albans between May and September 2012.
